R.I.P Mr. James Dewitt Yancey aka "J-Dilla"
Today five years ago legendary (songwriter/Emcee/Producer/Music Pioneer) James Yancey passed leaving a void in Hip-Hop & R&B that will NEVER be filled again. "J-Dilla" worked with the likes of Common, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Erykah Badu and a host of others....He was also a founding member of Slum Village and produced their acclaimed debut album Fan-Tas-Tic (Vol. 1) I stumbled across a great documentary on the Life and times of Mr. Yancey. The doc tells the story of story of Dilla's life through interviews with his family, friends and artists he worked with. Enjoy!
